Guest Conversation: Dr. Barbara Newman

September 29, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

$10

Join Eya’s director Allison Mondel for a live conversation with renowned medieval scholar Dr. Barbara Newman. The discussion centers upon the works and worldview of medieval visionary Hildegard von Bingen.

Dr. Newman has published the seminal volume of translations of Hildegard’s Symphonia, as well as several volumes dedicated to her oeuvre. This conversation will focus upon themes and symbolism in the songs, as well as deepen our understanding of Hildegard’s complex construction of feminine theology, especially as it pertains to Eve and Mary.
