This program is a tapestry of stories, songs and poems dedicated to Brigid of Kildare, 6th century patroness saint of Ireland.
This concert by candlelight will reflect the themes of flame and light that characterize Brigid’s feast day on February 1st and Candlemas on February 2nd. Eya will be accompanied on clársach (wire-stringed harp) by Cynthia Cathcart, with additional support provided by Brigid’s Circle, a volunteer women’s treble singer ensemble formed for this performance.
A workshop for the Brigid’s Circle singers will be held the evening before. Interested in participating? Please contact Director of Music,
Victoria Shields.
There is a pre-concert lecture by Eya’s director Allison Mondel at 4:30pm.
